For most people, home was indeed a place of refuge and comfort. But for others, tragically, home was far from safe, especially for those escaping situations of domestic abuse. The pandemic cast a harsh spotlight on this issue, and AberNecessities witnessed a distressing 175% increase in applications from families who were fleeing such traumatic situations with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Sadly, we continue to see a surge in applications of this nature. 

These families, especially brave survivor parents, have endured unimaginable challenges. For them, escaping domestic abuse was an act of heroism for both themselves and their children. Yet, their journey to safety often begins with very little to rebuild their lives. AberNecessities' Hero campaign aims to raise awareness and funds, ensuring that these families are given the means to start afresh.
